Project Principals: Mashkoor Malik, NOAA/OAR/OER (Expedition Coordinator and Mapping Lead)
NOAA ship Okeanos Explorer, "America's Ship for Ocean Exploration," is on a course to be the only U.S. ship assigned to systematically explore our largely unknown ocean for the purpose of discovery and the advancement of knowledge. The ship utilized telepresence to allow shore-based scientists to participate in the expedition. Learn more about the ship's mission and follow the activities as shipboard systems are tested in the Northern Pacific during a transit from the US West Coast to Hawaii.
